Top Dog Award
The Top Dog Award of Club Barbet Canada is accessible to all members of Club Barbet Canada.
This prize is awarded to the Barbet with the most conformation points in one year. The points are calculated on the previous year by using the system of points from the Canadian Kennel Club. The first year of reference is 2011, which is the first year following the national status of Club Barbet Canada.
The prizes are awarded to those who submit the request and qualify by the time of the National Specialty of the Club. When a specialty is not held in a given year, the award will be presented at the Annual General Meeting of the Club.

François Ménard Versatility Award
Since 2017, the versatility prize has been associated with a special Trophy which aims to recall the memory of Mr. François Ménard. The club wanted to highlight the excellent work of promoting the Barbet that Mr. Ménard has done for several years.
The first plaque of the trophy bears the names of François Ménard and GCH. Neigenuveaux’s Gambit CD RAE CGN RPT. This trophy is perpetually kept at the Club and the recipient of the annual award receives a plaque attached to the trophy.
Versatility Award
All members of Club Barbet Canada are eligible for the Versatility Award.
The Versatility Award was created to recognize outstanding contribution by a Barbet to the breed in Canada. It will be awarded to a Barbet, male or female, that has accumulated multiple CKC performance titles.
A plaque with the name of the winning Barbet will be presented to the owner during the Club Barbet National Specialty. In the years that the Specialty is not held, awards are given out at the Annual General Meeting. The award is mailed to recipients who are unable to receive it in person.
The Versatility Award Requirements
In order to be considered for the Versatility Award, a Barbet must have:
- CKC Championship in Conformation
- Two performance titles conferred by the CKC
Rules
1. This is a once in a lifetime award. The owner, or breeder, of the dog must apply in order to be considered.
2. All applicants must be members in good standing of the Club Barbet Canada, for at least 12 months prior to the application.
3. To be considered, the application, together with copies of all documents, as verified by the CKC, must be submitted to contact@barbetcanada.ca, by mail or e-mail. Please do not send original documents, as submissions will not be returned.
4. The names, dates, and locations of CKC titles earned must be provided to contact@barbetcanada.ca as proof of certification obtained by the Barbet.Â

- CKC Obedience Certificates (Canine Good Neighbour – CGN – Dog Certificate is not accepted)

Register of Merit Award
All members of Club Barbet Canada are eligible for the Award of Merit.
The Award of Merit and the Award of Merit Excellent have been created to recognize the outstanding contribution of a male or female dog to the Barbet breed in Canada through the achievements of their offspring.

In the years that the Specialty is not held, awards are given out at the Annual General Meeting. The award is mailed to recipients who are unable to receive it in person.
Requirements for Sires
Award of Merit
To qualify, sires must have:
- Seven CKC titled offspring
- Each offspring must have earned one of the following titles: CKC Champion in Conformation, or CKC Working Certificate, or Working Certificate Intermediate, or Working certificate Excellent.
Award of Merit Excellent
To qualify, sires must have:
Fourteen CKC titled offspring of which;
- Eleven offspring that have earned the title of CKC Champion in Conformation
- Three offspring must have earned CKC Working Certificate, or Working Certificate Intermediate, or Working Certificate Excellent.
Requirements for Dams
Award of Merit
To qualify, Dams must have:
- Five CKC titled offspring
- Each offspring must have earned one of the following titles: CKC Champion in Conformation, or CKC Working Certificate, or Working Certificate Intermediate, or Working Certificate Excellent.
Award of Merit Excellent
To qualify, dams must have:
- Ten CKC titled offspring of which;
- Seven offspring that have earned the title of CKC Champion in Conformation
- Three of the offspring must have earned CKC Working Certificate, or Working Certificate Intermediate, or Working certificate Excellent.
